A Moving Response to the Song – GOTTHARD THE HEARTBEAT OF THE MOUNTAINS

On 22 November 2025, during the Water Connects event in Andermatt, I experienced one of the most meaningful moments of my musical journey thus far. Present was Mr Ueli Maurer, a former member of the Swiss Federal Council, who took a moment to immerse himself in the sound of my creation. Witnessing the genuine emotion that overcame him as he absorbed the song’s spirit was profoundly moving.
His heartfelt reaction reminded me how essential it is to share songs that matter, along with stories that inspire people to form genuine, meaningful connections. As we celebrated the majestic power of the Swiss mountains, especially the mighty Gotthard Massif, and the deep bond between people and nature, I felt inspired to help my audience deepen their appreciation for Switzerland’s breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural traditions.
The warmth, conversations, and support I received left me feeling profoundly grateful.
Andermatt was more than just a place that day; it was a pivotal moment where music, nature, and human connection came together.
It reignited the purpose behind my work:
to honour the soul of the Swiss Alps, particularly the mighty Gotthard Massif and to celebrate the living pulse that connects people, mountains, and water.
Meeting Alphorn Virtuoso Peter Baumann
A truly unforgettable part of the day was meeting Peter Baumann, one of Switzerland’s most renowned alphorn players. As the notes of our collaboration filled the venue, I saw the pride and deep emotional resonance in his expression. Hearing the completed piece together on the large screen was powerful for both of us, a testament to the heartfelt artistry he brought to this composition.
Peter expressed how meaningful it was for him to lend his clarion alphorn voice to the piece, and how deeply he felt when he heard our work presented in such a beautiful and inspiring setting. His musicianship embodies a tangible sense of Swiss identity, and I am profoundly grateful to collaborate with an artist of his calibre.
A Day That Will Stay with Me
The atmosphere in Andermatt was electric, as if the very air vibrated with music, culture, and human connection. I left the event feeling inspired and grateful, dedicated to creating music that carries meaning, evokes emotion, and celebrates Swiss identity.
This day will remain a pivotal moment in my journey, a moment when art, spirit, and purpose united in perfect harmony.
It has strengthened my passion to create, share, and bring my stories to life through Astral Rocks, with the hope of inspiring others to pursue their own dreams.
